Lucknow: Veteran clean energy expert and Founder Chairman and Director of Hikma Energies Private Limited, Tariq Hasan Naqvi, has been appointed Chairman of the National Solar, Bio-Energy and Electric Vehicle Committee of the Indian Industries Association (IIA) for the 2026–27 term. The appointment was announced by IIA National President and industrialist Dinesh Goyal.
Naqvi, who has been associated with the solar energy sector for over two decades, is widely recognized for his contributions to the promotion of renewable energy and sustainable technologies in India. Under his leadership and with the support of the Indian Industries Association and UPNEDA, several national-level initiatives, including the India Solar and EV Expo, have been organized regularly. These events have brought together leading solar and electric vehicle companies from across the country to showcase innovations, technologies, and products while fostering collaboration within the industry.
Throughout his career, Naqvi has played a significant role in shaping India’s renewable energy landscape by providing strategic guidance to various organizations involved in solar energy. He has also served as Director and Managing Director of several companies engaged in energy generation and solar panel manufacturing, contributing to the sector’s growth through his extensive management expertise.
Before his distinguished career in renewable energy, Naqvi held the position of Vice President at the Reliance Group for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where he played an instrumental role in the launch of Reliance Mobile services in the two states. His leadership in telecommunications and infrastructure development has earned him widespread recognition across industries.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the renewable energy sector, the Uttar Pradesh Solar Power Development Association honoured Naqvi with the Lifetime Achievement Award last year. The award was presented by Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna.
Naqvi also serves as a member of the State-Level Advisory Committee constituted under the Uttar Pradesh Government’s Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, where he continues to contribute to policy discussions and industrial development initiatives.
His appointment has been welcomed by prominent leaders of the industrial fraternity, including former IIA Presidents Ajay Gupta, Ganesh Chaturvedi, Sunil Vaishya and Ashok Agarwal. Congratulations were also extended by National Senior Vice President Alok Agarwal, National General Secretary Deepak Bajaj, National Treasurer Avdhesh Agarwal, National Vice Presidents Chetan Dev Bhalla and Surya Kumar Haveliya, National Secretary Pramit Kumar Singh, Lucknow Divisional Chairman Rajeev Bansal, Lucknow Chapter Chairman Vaibhav Agarwal, Women Wing President Anandi Agarwal, representatives of Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Mandal, Bharatiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, and several organizations associated with the solar energy and electric vehicle sectors.
